Dry Skin

Chlorinated water, stress, diet, artificial fragrances, climate, natural aging and hormonal cycles, air pollution, genetics; all these and more may contribute to dry skin. Remember: your skin is your largest organ and the interface between your inner and outer environments. Stress, whether environmental, mental, emotional, spiritual or physical, all put pressure on our overall immunological responses and health balance. For many, the first place this stress will manifest is with their skin. Your dry skin may be a barometer to your inner and outer influences. Pay attention to it. There is no such thing as "bad skin", just skin exposed to challenging situations. Here are a few other things you can do: Humidify your home and work place - drink more water - avoid tobacco and alcohol- use unscented laundry soap (Use Liquid Sunshine or Unscented Castile Liquid Soap). Avoid using detergents on your skin, especially washing dishes and shampooing. Avoid artificial fragrances (including scented toilet paper). Take a good multi-vitamin and chelated mineral supplement, work on stress reduction and emotional stability, especially if you internalize anxiety, filter your shower water and most of all...
