Castile Liquid Soap
Castile Liquid Soap is a safe, nontoxic, green, multi-purpose, multi-surface concentrate that is made with organic plant oils for your safety and for the safety of our planet. Cleans ALL water-safe surfaces.
The word castile is a reference to La Castilla – a region in central Spain historically significant in the history of soapmaking. In America, castile means any soap made with olive oil, often a liquid soap made from coconut and olive. Always check your ingredients – some companies add synthetic chemicals to their so called castile soap!
HANDS and BODY: Use full strength or dilute up to 50%
DISHES: Saturate applicator with full strength castile soap and scrub. Add more as needed. Always soak tough stuff in soap and hot water first to loosen debris. Use some castile soap in your wash water, but utilize a soapy sponge or scrubber to do the bulk of the cleaning.
FLOORS: Add 3oz (6 tbsps) of Castile Liquid Soap to mop water. Clean as usual, and allow to dry.
WALLS & WOODWORK: Dilute 1/4 cup per 1 gallon of hot water. Clean, rinse and let dry.
LAUNDRY: Use about 1/3 cup per load – a little more for hard water. Castile Liquid Soap may be neutralized by detergent residues in the machine so use enough to get the barest start of foam on top. You may have to use a little extra the first time. Best to mix into warm water before adding the clothes. Great for hand-washing most silks and fine fabrics, wool and suede (may darken). Bleach compatible.
STAIN REMOVAL: Safe and effective. Wet surface and apply full strength. Work into the material from several directions and let sit a moment. Blot stain with cloth or towel and rinse.
CARPETS: Replaces detergent concentrates. Works well in all carpet cleaning machines and on stains.
GENERAL CLEANING: Fill a clean spray bottle with warm water, add 5% of concentrate, then spray & wipe. Great for ALL watersafe surfaces. Help eliminate new plastic smell. Safe and nontoxic for humans, plants & pets.
BATHROOMS: Use full strength on sponge and rinse. For all porcelain and tile surfaces.
VEHICLES: Saturate sponge with Castile Liquid Soap. Work over vehicle in sections, wetting first, scrubbing and then rinsing. Always wash vehicles out of direct sunlight. Will slightly darken most porous materials. Test on a small inconspicuous area prior to use.

BETTER THAN BRONNER’S
Vermont Castile Soap is much better than Dr. Bronner’s castile soap!
After only 1 month of using Vermont Castile Soap… we were hooked. Now, we use Vermont Castile Soap for everything… and we dilute it to the perfect amounts for ANY AND ALL of our needs. It’s great for the Kitchen… which is “HQ Central” for our farm. It’s perfect for the Bathroom… the family loves it and guests do, too. And, it’s ideal for the Garden… in a ultra-light dilution it keeps our Kale Garden healthy and bug-free… even during the wet-winters here in Oregon.
Bye – Bye Bronner’s! 🙂 Hello-o-o-o Vermont!

Cuts through soap scum
I was surprised to discover this cuts through soap scum amazingly. I just put a dime size amount on a microfiber cloth and wipe down shower door, shower walls, floor etc. No need to scrub. Scent is gentle and clean. Possibly wait a minute, not much more at all. Then spray off and soap scum is gone! No more need for chemical cleaners or elbow grease!
Best soap ever!

Great soap!I like this soap very much, and for me, I put some in a foaming bottle, add water and use for hand washing. I love the light orange scent!
great old fashioned soapgreat old fashioned soap…smells like soap used to smell with a slight citrus fragrance. I love to use it after working in the yard.
You get what should be expected from organic soap
I think this product is great. I saw a few reviews complaining that it’s too thin however Organic soaps should not use fillers for consistency. It has a slight grainy scent but it doesn’t stick and it has no added fragrances. One bottle practically last a single person one year. I used a foaming soap dispenser to stretch it out.

Awesome soap – NO ToxinsI love this soap, I have used it for everything in my home from washing dishes to washing baby. I don’t buy shampoo either I use this and mix in some glycerin. Using this soap from day one my child has never had any dry skin or rash problems. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Even Dr. Bronner has cancer causing ingredients. Look at the Skin Deep website. There is not a single bad ingredient in this soap. Well worth the price. I saw a review that said the soap is too thin. I did find that to be the case but what I did was put it in a foaming bottle and it works perfect (A trick it to water it down a bit in the foamer and save on soap).

Rosemary scentedSeems to be pure soap in that it cuts grease well. However, it has rosemary extract, which gives it a slight smell of rosemary.

Awesome for homemade cleaning productsThis soap is working great and I feel comforted to use a non-chemical cleaning agent when I clean my house.

I was looking for non-antibiotic, non-smelling soap to refill 2 foaming hand soap dispensers.
I mix this about somewhere between 50/50 and 60/40 soap to water (as I refill the containers)
We go through one of these/year at my house so I think it’s a great value and I like the soap.
I do notice that I have to clean out the nozzels of the pumps about once a month with hot water or soap builds up in there.

Good soap but don’t overbuy – it goes bad over timeIf you know what castile soap is then I don’t need to sell you – it really is a better soap than any other soap you will want to use. So I went ahead and bought a couple gallons hoping i’d be stocked up for awhile – this was a mistake, because it smells like it goes rancid. Which makes sense – natural plant oils aren’t going to last forever and I shouldn’t expect that vs chemical crap that will last forever – but this is NOT an item you can stock up a 5 year supply on or save money by buying huge quantities of like I thought.

The best castille I’ve foundSo far I’ve only reviewed a few products out of many hundreds I’ve bought here. As I was sending a link for this soap to a friend, I saw it had only one review, and that was four stars. This is the best castille soap i’ve found. Highly rated for its lack of bad chemicals, yet it foams pretty well and feels good.

Use a FOAMING BOTTLE :-) Good for psoriasis too!!!
I’ve been using this soap for some times now as a hand soap. I just recently began using it for a body soap and shampoo.
I highly recommend getting a FOAMING BOTTLE. This soap works great with foaming bottles, even at 1/2 dilution!!!!
As for a body soap: I don’t swim much, but after a visit to the local swimming pool, my skin would become dry and itchy from the chlorine. That stopped after I started using this soap as a body wash after a dip.
I also have psoriasis at the base of my scalp. Regular psoriasis soap with the acid bothers my wife. I started using the JustNatural Psoriasis shampoo with some result. But the combination of JustNatural Psoriasis shampoo with a post rinse of the Vermont Soap really improved my scalp condition. The psoriasis hasn’t completely gone away, but it is in control and is shrinking. I’ll see if it goes away after a few seasons worth of use.
My wife uses this as a body wash now and is getting good results also. She now don’t have to use as much body lotion to keep her skin from drying.

Good productLike the product and a little goes a long way.
Better than Dr. Bronners in my opinionLove this soap! Its used in my homemade shampoo recipe and gets my hair so clean, light feeling, and volumized. It’s a little expensive, but It lasts for a long time, and I solely keep it for use in my shampoo. I buy Vermont Soap instead of Dr. Bronners because Bronners has Tocopherol or Vitamin E in it. Studies show that too much vitamin E could have cancer risks to body. The environmental working group rates this with research shown on their site EWG/skindeep. It’s technical and difficult to read but Dr. Oz also put out some stuff on this topic if you want to read. So I get my daily recommended dose of vitamin E through some of my foods and my multi vitamin. I don’t want to get any extra through my soap I use daily. So this soap is preserved with rosemary extract instead and has a long shelf life. Love it!

Excellent soap – easy on handsAfter becoming a parent, and finding myself doing a lot more hand washing of dishes, baby bottles etc, I wanted a soap that was gentler on my hands than even the Ecovert dish soap that I had been using. Also an unscented replacement for the liquid soaps we had been using in the bathroom. We tried a few, and this is the clear winner. I almost feel like it is conditioning my hands. Basically no need to use moisturizer, even after tackling an overflowing sink of pans, dishes, toddler bowls and spoons etc. I just wish it was available via Amazon fulfillment, so that it would qualify for Amazon Prime/Mom free shipping. Still worth it with the shipping cost though. The first time, you’ll also want to buy one or two foaming pump dispensers. I bought their brand, but the liquid also worked in a washed out dispenser from one of the other brands I tried. That dispenser eventually jammed, but that could have been a coincidence.

Organic with no questionable ingredients like some of the other castile soaps on the marketOrganic with no questionable ingredients like some of the other castile soaps on the market. I use this for absolutely all cleaning tasks and add organic essential oils for my scent preferences.

Vermont Soap – Unscented not scentlessWe ordered this soap because my wife gets smell triggered migraines. While this soap is unscented (which must mean they did not add artificial scents to the product) it is not scentless. It still has a soapy / oatmeal smell. However, the smell is not overbearing, fades fast, and is not stuck to you all day. My wife uses this soap and it does not trigger her migraines. As soap, it works well except on very heavy grease from bikes or engines. One difference for those that have used other brands of liquid hand soap is that this Vermont Soap is less viscous (more watery), but still works well in pump dispensers.

Real Deal Castilethis is the soap champion! i’ve used them all. it has the best ingredients- (organic oils of coconut, olive and jojoba, organic aloe vera, rosemary extract) – no citric acid. my skin is terrible and this soap is by far the most gentle. try it!

Happy Homemaker in NDI purchased this because it is made in the US and is organic and relatively inexpensive. I make my own cleaning products and body products and this castile soap is amazing to use in my products. It will gel a little if it gets too cold (which I learned our kitchen pantry must get cold). The smell is that of soap. I bought unscented so I could add my on E.O.’s to it. It still has a strong soap smell, even with the E.O.’s but I don’t mind it. Only downfall is the cost of shipping as this is a heavy product. Otherwise I love it and I am very satisfied.
